Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Vitaly Markelov and Chairman of ChelPipe’s Board of Directors Andrey Komarov signed a roadmap for the development and batch manufacturing of pipes for offshore projects on February 15, 2018, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Russia.
According to this document, ChelPipe will use the technology to make pipes of 25Cr Super Duplex steel and UNS N06625 nickel alloy.
These materials will help the equipment used in offshore environments obtain parameters such as ultra-high strength and corrosion resistance. No pipes of this type have been produced in Russia by now.
It is planned to manufacture, test, and certify pipe prototypes during 2018 under the requirements of Gazprom. The pipes will be utilized for the manufacture of domestic equipment for subsea production systems, including X-mas trees and manifolds.
Russian R&D companies are now developing subsea production systems (SPS) commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade supported by Gazprom. The first subsea production system prototypes are expected to be delivered in 2019, with comprehensive testing planned for the year of 2020.
