Oilfield services company Plexus has bagged a deal for the provision of POS-GRIP HPHT (high pressure/high temperature) adjustable exploration wellhead equipment to Rosneft.
The contract has been signed with Rosneft TNK Vietnam B.V., a subsidiary of the Russian oil company Rosneft, Plexus said on Thursday. The company also pointed out that this was a new country and a new territory for Plexus and represented their expansion from the North Sea.
Ben Van Bilderbeek, CEO at Plexus, said that securing a first contract with a new client was always encouraging, especially as strategically important as Rosneft Vietnam, a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest oil & gas producing companies.
In the past, they have found that as soon as the superior features of their equipment in terms of performance, safety and reliability, as well as the significant cost and time saving were experienced by their clients out in the field, new clients were becoming long-term ones as further contracts were awarded. Therefore they hoped this would also be the case with Rosneft Vietnam and this deal would work out well both for them and their licensing partner Gusar in terms of improving their business in the region.
Russia and the CIS are just one of a range of areas the company is targeting as it looks to expand outside of its traditional homeland in the North Sea. Plexus considers India, Middle East, Asia, and the Gulf of Mexico as strategically critical areas for the company business and they are therefore pleased to have been awarded this contract in Vietnam.
